HALF MOON GOLF CLUB (876) 953-2560
Jamaica Golf Course Review
Half Moon Golf Club in Rose Hall Jamaica, West Indies, is a gorgeously designed 18-hole championship course that is truly one of the golfing gems of the Caribbean. This layout
was originated by Robert Trent Jones Sr and redesigned by Roger Rulewich. The property at Half Moon encompasses 400 acres of prime Caribbean oceanfront land bordered by
a two mile white sand beach. The resort now features 197 spacious rooms and suites as well as 33 expansive 4-5-6 and 7 bedroom villas each with private pools plus butler,
cook and housekeeper. The twoguyswhogolf stayed in a 7 bedroom villa years ago and it was the vacation of our lives.
This AAA Four Diamond resort has too many amenities to mention but we will give it a shot. How about 13 floodlit tennis courts, 68,000 square-foot indoor/outdoor spa with
gardens and a yoga studio, spinning studio, fitness centre, equestrian centre, superb cuisine with a variety of restaurants, children’s activity centre, water sports, 53 fresh water
swimming pools, dolphin lagoon, 2 miles of beach, shopping village, and 24-hour medical centre. For more info visit the properties’ website by clicking on this link www.halfmoon.com
GOLF AT HALF MOON
First of all, visitors who stay at Half Moon will be ideally situated to play perhaps the best 4-some of courses the Caribbean has to offer that are within 30 minutes of each other.
The Half Moon course is on property with free shuttle service to and from the clubhouse, and Cinnamon Hill Rose Hall and White Witch are just minutes away. World renowned
Tryall is less than 1/2 hour away. Whenever we visit - we stay in the Montego Bay ( Mobay) area for at least a few days so that we can play each of these layouts, then venture to
Negril for a time to enjoy the best beach on the island and the best snorkleing off the nearby cliffs. …together this makes for an ideal vacation. However, staying a Half Moon and
playing this course every day - is a treat in itself!
The golf facilities at Half Moon include a grass driving range, plus short game area with sand bunker and chipping/ putting green. The clubhouse includes a pro shop, 2 meeting
rooms, locker rooms and a lounge for drinks, snacks or a light lunch. The course was made-over in 2005 - with newly aligned, multiple tee complexes plus repositioned fairways
and bunkers, making the course more enjoyable for resort players. The conditioning here is always top notch and the landscaping is extraordinary.
There are approximately 55 white sand bunkers situated near the landing zones on the meticulously manicured fairways or greenside, and water comes into play on 2 holes. Five
sets of tee boxes offer yardage ranging from 7120 yards with a slope of 131 from the Championship tees to 5035 from the Ladies/Senior & Junior tees. This can be a challenging
round for the experienced players, and the mildly rolling fairways often provide enough room that golfers are encouraged to use driver off the tee. Resort and beginning golfers will
love the challenge and beauty - choose the right set of tees and this is an enjoyable experience for all levels of players.
As with all golf experiences in Jamaica, look for direction from your caddie - who is experienced in providing accurate yardage information all along the course, and can also be of
assistance with club selection and in reading the greens. 100, 150 and 200 yard markers are provided for on each fairway, but you will have to ask your caddie for pin placement
information. Bag and shoe storage (and rentals) are also available. Locker rooms are provided, and there is an excellent outdoor bar located on property right next to the
clubhouse and driving range.
As far as the TWO GUYS WHO GOLF are concerned, this is a golfing and resort experience rivaling any place in the Islands - A truly memorable experience and highly
recommended! For more information visit our detailed information page by clicking here. Click here to visit the HALF MOON website. Irie!
